Brad Pitt's Hurricane Katrina charity takes legal action

A charity set up by Brad Pitt to build homes for those affected by Hurricane Katrina is embroiled in legal action over allegations about the quality of some of the houses.

Pitt set up the Make It Right Foundation to help families left homeless when the extreme weather caused devastating floods in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2005.

However, more than 100 of the properties funded by the organisation are reportedly suffering structural problems, and bosses of the charity have filed a US$500,000 (NZ$658,292) lawsuit at New Orleans' District Court against a construction company over the allegations.
